A Bit Of Charleston

Charleston, SC is a great strolling town with its parks and squares and lovely homes along with a riverfront...and great restaurants....feel like we are eating our way across the USA....but this old traditional restaurant was stellar...The Olde Pink House.

So glad we are saving these glorious places as undeveloped ...Ruins of family mansion of Andrew Carnegie Jr....late 1800s..had 14 children.

Bird Sanctuary

So many songbirds...our campground has its own bird sanctuary.....love the proud robin....



Jekyll Island, GA

Bob and I have totally fell in love with the South, especially Jekyll Island.  Love the history, maritime forest, beaches, dunes, flowers, birds. great biking, hiking, golf....gorgeous springtime weather also! Pics are Fort Frederica National Monument...1600...southern tip of colonies..Revolutionary war brought Scottish, Austrian and German soldiers and families here.  Fascinating!





St Augustine....oldest city

Oldest city in US....1520...very interesting history!




Sissy Hoopes

Bob's high school friend Pete's 97 year old  mom, Sissy, lives in Fl.. ..We visited her and Pete's brother and sister-in-law.  Fun evening....Bob has always talked so highly of Sissy....now I see why....what a hoot...great looks of love between the two!!!
