Flipper

Felt like I was 12 years old again.....Flipper was my favorite show.....and it started my interest in Marine Biology....Unfortunately when I was at University of Connecticut I went to talk to a professor about Marine Biology......He told me...."oh Women don't do that".....I wasn't quite as spunky as I am now,so just said okay....We've come a long way baby!!!!

TIme Difference!

OOPS>>>>Called Joy in California....She answered tentatively and asked why I was calling...I said...Just to talk....Joy responded with....Oh well you never have called me at 7:00 AM....Laughed so hard....Forgot I am an East Coaster now with a 3 hour time difference to California!!!

A Nice Forecast

Sarasota, Florida. March 18, 2017. Morning news local TV Weather guy, “For the next seven days, each day will be warmer than yesterday”. 

Today made 74, so it sounds good to me.

There are a whole bunch of people who are here for a forecast like that. Including those on Spring break. The traffic is monumental.  87% of the population of North America is here. Well, it seems like that at times.

We are two for two for living in hot spots for Spring Break on this road trip of ours. 

Life in light clothing.  

Last year we were at Lake Havasu, a long popular spot for warmth seeking youths from the big universities of the Southwest.

Havasu pales in comparison with the popularity of Florida this time of year. So, we trade traffic for warm sun. It is worth it.

Move to Florida! 

While the complex subject of who pays for what goes on in DC, we have found no shortage of care options here in the Sarasota area. Doctors and clinics are everywhere and plentiful. The aging folks that have moved here provide a great business base for making money taking care of their needs. During a routine eye exam, Cathy was found to have a condition that was best treated by an 8 minute laser procedure to relieve pressure within her eyes. The competition is such that places like the eyeglass chain that did the exam work in concert with a circle of local doctors. The specialist to whom we were referred has been a top notch professional.  He has actually called Cathy, personally, a few times to follow up and make sure all is well. Nice touch! And, all is well.

Overheard at a local Florida marina…

“Look at all deze yatz, who are deze people? How can so many people afford to own one of deze big boats, I mean, deze are yatz!  Look at dat one, “Our Inheritance” it says, and dat one, “Envy Me”, and dat one, “I Seas Youse”. Dese tings cost millions. Who are deze people? How can dere be so many freeking people with deze yatz? I don’t get it. Musta gone wrong somewhere, I don’t got no Yat.”
