This is a National Historic Place at Woodstock, Vt. There is a wonderful old mansion, hiking trails through the woodlands, Robert Frost poems everywhere on little signposts, a working farm and farm museum and more. I was struck by the lovely fall flower garden. This is part of our October in Vermont.

Lamoille River
This is the river by our current camp here in Morristown, VT.
It drains a portion of the mountains of northern Vermont and flows into Lake Champlain. There is a lot of French history in this part of the US.
Lamoille may make you want to try something like "La mwal" to speak it, but locals call it "Lamb oil".
Being autumn, the Lamb Oil flow is mild. I took a walk in the river yesterday. Put the water shoes on, grabbed a hiking stick for balance on the rocky bottom and stepped into mid calf deep water and walked a ways up stream. The woods were thick on either bank and the fall color was great. The sensation of walking on the rocks and the water flowing by was sweet. I heartily recommend this activity for anyone.

Window View
Our current camp in Morristown, VT is nicely situated by a river and woodlands. View from our "dining room".
End Of Our Journey Is Near
We are to be in Vermont for another week, then time in upstate New York, finishing with attending our son's wedding in Brooklyn. Then it is drive time home to arrive October 27th, in North Carolina and the new home. We'll be posting the last of our adventures until then. Meanwhile, anybody interested in a very comfortable 5th wheel RV?

Cooking Dinner
Just a quick post, mostly to save for ourselves...but look at red cabbage in boiling water the first few seconds in. Turned the water a turquoise blue.
