Lamoille River

This is the river by our current camp here in Morristown, VT.
It drains a portion of the mountains of northern Vermont and flows into Lake Champlain. There is a lot of French history in this part of the US.
Lamoille may make you want to try something like  "La mwal" to speak it, but locals call it "Lamb oil".
Being autumn, the Lamb Oil flow is mild. I took a walk in the river yesterday. Put the water shoes on, grabbed a hiking stick for balance on the rocky bottom and stepped into mid calf deep water and walked a ways up stream.  The woods were thick on either bank and the fall color was great. The sensation of walking on the rocks and the water flowing by was sweet. I heartily recommend this activity for anyone.
