Rafting The Green River With Great Side Hikes

So after a hiatus of about 40 years, Bob took his second raft trip. Cathy has done a few others sans Bob. The Green River, here in the Uintah Basin, (pronounced you-went-uh as in, “We went to Uintah”), is a major tributary to the Colorado River. The Green is running at a 10,000 cubic feet per second flow rate thanks to Spring rains and snow melt so we decided to take the ride. That's like 10,000 basketballs going by in a second. It was great. Mild, sunny day so the splashing was enjoyable. Some nice roller coaster rapids coupled with some easy floating amongst spectacular views. 8 miles of river. It was a good day.

  1. Something tells me bob is more at home in a kayak on coffee pond, where i think there is likely zero cubic feet rushing past if you set out early enough in the morning.
