Rosie the Riveter National Monument
WHile in California we went to the Rosie the Riveter National Monument in Richmond......It is a fairly new NPS unit.....And had been on my bucket list for a while.....Since we are traipsing around the country seeing NPS units, thought I should see the one so close to home.....it was exceptional.....go when the 94 year old women ranger, Betty Reid-Soskin is giving her presentation....it was riveting!!! (no pun intended!).....she was a clerk at the shipyards during WWII....One of the best presentations I have heard....And who knew that Richmond had a nice area....lovely park with condos on waterfront....nice bike path there too..
